We Love When Family Comes To Visit

Gavin and Shawna and their adorable children came to visit last week. We loved it! Unfortunately, I did not take nearly enough photos. We all ate dinner together at Grandma and Grandpa Lundskog's Sunday evening. I was happy to see that Shane had not forgotten who I was, and Uncle Joe and Christian were almost inseparable. Christian even got to come spend the night at our house. It was a blast. We did everything good aunts and uncles are supposed to do for their nephews...we ate chocolate, stayed up late playing games and fell asleep watching movies. In the morning after breakfast, Uncle Joe and Christian had a Nerf war! I am pretty sure Christian won, but I'll let you see the action for yourself. Then that morning we went snowboarding! We dropped Christian off early for lessons and picked up Shane in exchange! Shane was a trooper. He came with us as we ran errands before we headed up the, as Shane would say, "big mountain." On our drive up, Shane was getting really excited. Every mountain he saw he asked if we were going to drive up it, and if we said yes, he asked, "to the very top?" He loved seeing all the snow and playing in it too! It was a blast. We hope we get to see them again soon!

Joseph's Birthday

Joseph turned 23 on January 9th. He is officially a year older than me for 3 months. I think he really likes that. His birthday was pretty low-key this year. I made him biscuits and gravy for breakfast and then we relaxed and watched a movie in the afternoon, and that evening we went to Olive Garden with a friend and his girlfriend. After dinner we had some friends over and played games and ate brownies and cheesecake. (That was my first time making cheesecake and it kind of melted, but everyone said it was good- at least to me!)

It was a good day, but I felt bad it wasn't better. I love my husband and he deserves the very best. I had a whole day of bliss planned out, but the night before it fell apart. Joseph was understanding and said he had a great day anyways. He never expects or asks too much. I absolutely love him and I am so glad I found and married the most amazing and sweet man in the world. I am truly grateful that he is in my life. My life has been so blessed and so happy with him in it. It's funny how you think you love someone so much and that you couldn't possibly love them anymore than this, but then months and months later you look back and realize that love was just amateur, and NOW you couldn't possibly love them more. That is the story of my life with Joseph. I keep falling more and more in love with him each day.  I love you Babe!
