Frustrated
Okay so I've had glasses since I was 19 and couldn't see what my professors wrote on the white board. I've never tried contacts because I am deathly afraid of touching my eye. However, at my eye exam last week my doctor talked me into it. It took me over an hour to get the dang things in! I'm sure the staff members were all laughing at me when I left. But I have to admitt it was pretty cool driving home without my glasses on. Anyway, so the doctor tells me that with the contact exam I also get 30 days worth of contacts. The nurse (or whatever you call the eye doctor helpers) told me that my contacts were disposable and that I needed to take them out every night, So that night I take them out and throw them away. The next day I realize that they forgot to give me my 30 free contacts. So I call the office to tell them and they have no idea what I'm talking about, they don't give you 30 free contacts, they give you one pair of contacts that can last 30 days. WHAT???!!!! You mean that pair of contacts that I threw away was supposed to last me a month! I was so frustrated. They never told me that! The girl told me that they were disposable and that you take them out every night, so I assumed that meant you throw them away every night. How was I supposed to know? I've never done this before. I felt so stupid. Anyway, so I was a bit frustrated that they didn't explain that to me and that they didn't give me a free pair when I came back to order more. But oh well, now I know.
Funny Girl
So when Jetta falls asleep in her swing she is always in some crazy position. Half the times her hands are in the air, literally! I don't know how she can sleep and hold her hands up (not above her head but literally out in the air like she is blocking something that is going to hit her). I haven't gotten a photo of it yet, but I will. I did get one of her hand out ready to be kissed though! She is so much fun to play with and she always gives her daddy the biggest smiles. Here are a few photos of her playing with dad.
Most Beautiful Baby EVER!!!
Okay so I was talking to a friend the other day and she asked me if I thought parents knew if their babies were cute or not, because we all know that some babies have to grow into their cuteness. I don't know that answer but all I know is that my daughter is adorable! She is so beautiful and not in the "I'm your mom, of course I think your cute" way but, in the "no, seriously mom or not, you are the cutest thing alive" way. And I bet that is how it is for all moms, but really Jetta is so beautiful and so much fun. She smiles all the time now, follows me with her eyes as I walk by, and coos and talks! Its so much fun and I am so lucky I get to be her mother! True it is a lot of work and I can only image that it gets harder when they start to crawl and walk, and get into the teens, but even on those days when I'm so exhausted and need a break from her, I would never ever wish to go back to the days when she wasn't here. I love you Jetta!
Second day of life and just gorgeous!
Joseph's Birthday and Jetta's Blessing
As we were trying to decide when we wanted to bless Jetta, Joseph said "Why don't I bless her on my birthday?" It just so happened that this year Joseph's birthday landed on a Sunday and he was really excited to make it a special day for both of them. So Jetta was blessed on Joseph's 24th birthday. I kept asking Joseph if he was nervous, having never given a baby blessing before, but he seemed really calm and gave her a beautiful blessing. He blessed her to have a keen remembrance of her Father in heaven, to respect her mother, to be an example to her brothers and sisters, to love the gospel and live it with exact obedience, to be physically healthy, and to have a strong desire to learn and love education. It was a very sweet blessing and although she was awake during it she didn't make a peep through the whole thing!
Although it was Jetta's blessing and family came into town for it, I wanted to make sure Joseph's birthday didn't get over looked. So that morning I woke up and tried to make French toast (how do you mess up french toast?? I don't know, but I sure did!) but ended up with toast and eggs instead. During breakfast I had him open his birthday presents (New shirt and a new game Settlers of Catan) and instead of a birthday cake he wanted a huge Smart Cookie (Ice cream in between two cookies). So after church we had a lunchon and had his huge ice cream cookie cake! I'd say it was an awesome day.

New Years 2011
New Years Eve was our first time leaving Jetta and going out on a date. Although it felt weird not having her with me, it was really nice to have quality time with Joseph. He took me to the Provo mall where they had a whole evening of fun events: live bands, singing contests, rock climbing, face painting, food eating contests and even fireworks! It was an awesome fireworks show too! I was really impressed. It was freezing outside while we watched, but it just meant that we had to hold each other tight to keep warm! So romantic! We only stayed out until 9:30pm so we could get back to Jetta and relieve Jake and Lauren so they could go on their date too. So when midnight actually hit we watched the ball drop and got our tipsy on with our martinelli's! It was a great night.
